{"id":909,"date":"2026-05-28T11:54:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T10:54:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aliancapioneer.iscte-iul.pt\/?p=909"},"modified":"2026-05-28T11:54:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T10:54:26","slug":"retime-project-supports-sustainable-and-resilient-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aliancapioneer.iscte-iul.pt\/index.php\/en\/2026\/05\/28\/retime-project-supports-sustainable-and-resilient-cities\/","title":{"rendered":"RETIME Project Supports Sustainable and Resilient Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The European project&nbsp;<strong>RETIME &#8211; Urban Adaptation and Alert Solutions for a TIMEly (re)Action&nbsp;<\/strong>is an Innovation Action funded by the&nbsp;<strong>Horizon Europe programme<\/strong>, currently running from 2024 to 2028.&nbsp;<strong>Coordinated by Iscte&nbsp;&#8211; University Instittute of Lisbon,<\/strong>&nbsp;the project brings together 18 European partners, including members from the University of \u017dilina in Slovakia (UNIZA) and TH K\u00f6ln in Germany, both partner institutions of the&nbsp;<strong>PIONEER Alliance,&nbsp;<\/strong>reinforcing European collaboration in the fields of research, innovation, sustainability and urban resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to Iscte, the University of \u017dilina (UNIZA) and TH K\u00f6ln, the RETIME consortium includes several&nbsp;other&nbsp;European partners working in the areas of research, technology, urban innovation, sustainability and public administration. According to the project\u2019s official information, the 18 partners include institutions from&nbsp;<strong>Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark and Estonia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the identified partners are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Technical University of Denmark (DTU)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tecnalia Research &amp; Innovation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Deusto<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Porto<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lisbon City Council<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Institute of Baltic Studies (Estonia)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ICONS Innovation Strategies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Team SRL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team Ingenier\u00eda y Consultor\u00eda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VELTIS Rating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The consortium also includes&nbsp;<strong>SMEs,<\/strong>&nbsp;research centres, public entities and organisations specialising in climate adaptation, engineering, urban planning and territorial resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RETIME&nbsp;<\/strong>aims to develop innovative solutions to support cities and communities in adapting to extreme phenomena associated with climate change, including heatwaves, wildfires, flash floods and other environmental risks. To achieve this, the project is developing a data-driven platform capable of integrating information from weather stations, sensor networks, satellite imagery and automated on-site surveys, enabling the simulation of current impacts and the projection of future climate and environmental risk scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project\u2019s innovative approach lies in the use of advanced analytical models combining socio-architectural and environmental studies with data collected remotely and on-site. Among the main solutions currently under development are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; An automated sensor-based alert system;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; A Digital Building Twin;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Digital Building Renovation Passport;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;
