Vice-Rector for the Internationalisation. He holds a PhD in Economics from Bocconi University (Italy), a Master’s Degree in Economics and Management of Science and Technology from the Higher Institute of Economics and Management of the Technical University of Lisbon (ISEG/UTL), and a degree in Economics from the same institution. Associate Professor at the Political Economy Department of Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, where he has been teaching since 1999 in the areas of International Political Economy, Industrial and Innovation Policy, and Policy Evaluation. He was President of the Board of Ipps-Iscte (Institute for Public and Social Policies) since 2018 and is President of the Installing Committee of the School of Applied Digital Technologies (Iscte-Sintra) since 2022. Between 2008 and the beginning of 2014 he was Coordinator of the Research and Evaluation Centre of the NSRF Observatory. He was Director of Economic Analysis and Forecasting Services of the Office of Strategy and Studies of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation in 2007 and 2008. Member of Dinâmia’CET (Centre for Studies on Socio-economic Change and the Territory). Research interests: structural change and economic development, sectoral dynamics and innovation, and public policies.
